Nokulunga Madosi of Hillside location in Fort Beaufort was yesterday drawn as the winner of a snazzy new Suzuki Swift out of more than 200000 entries for the popular Daily Dispatch Win-A-Car competition.
The much anticipated announcement was made at the draw yester-day afternoon at the Daily Dispatch offices in Beacon Bay.
A total of 20 names were selected out of the pool of entries which were then audited by Jennifer Opie of Marias and Smith Chartered Accountants.
Madosi’s name was randomly picked out of the pile as this year’s winner.
When the Daily Dispatch contacted her, the 34-year-old receptionist excitedly said it would be the first car her family ever owns.
“I don’t believe it. I bought the paper every day, gathered my entries each week and sent them through the post and just hoped for the best.”
Daily Dispatch acting marketing manager Penelope Smith said: “We are thrilled for Mrs Madosi and look forward to handing her the keys to her new Suzuki Swift later this week.
“It is such a pleasure for us to be able to make that phone call, which ultimately is often a life-changing moment for one of our lucky readers.
“We thank everyone who took part in this competition and look forward to an even bigger and better competition next year.”
Suzuki Auto East London manager Steve Chandler of Kempston Motor Group said this year’s competition was a “tremendous success”.
“This has been a fantastic experience. This joint venture saw many people entering and coming in to see the car and hear more about it. I believe we’ve had a record number of entries this year,” Chandler said.
Daily Dispatch general manager Ryan Megaw said: “This competition gives everyone an opportunity to win.
“We are thrilled that someone from our outlying areas won this year.
“A big thanks to our partners for all their efforts in making this a success. Let’s see what happens next year!” — email@example.com
