ANC's Ntutu fails in bid to have corruption charges scrapped

The application to have ANC Amathole regional secretary Teris Ntutu's fraud and corruption case struck off the roll was dismissed by the Butterworth Magistrate's Court today.

The defence brought the application for the case to be struck off the roll when the State requested further postponement.

The State was supposed to furnish the defence with a copy of the indictment for the high court trial. However, it could not, arguing that death of Sive Nombembe caused them not to  complete the indictment.

Magistrate Lundi Qangule gave them a month to finish the indictment and give it to the defence.

The case was postponed to November 21. Ntutu was in court during the proceedings.
