KFC delivery man guilty of exposing his genitals

An East London KFC delivery man has been found guilty of exposing his genitals to a woman customer when he delivered her order to her home with the zip of his trousers open.

Wonga Thambodala, 34, of Amalinda was yesterday morning sentenced to two years correctional supervision on charges of exposure/display of genital organs to another person.

East London Regional Court magistrate, Nomthandazo Vabaza, handed down the sentence, adding Thambodala could appeal it in 14 days if he deemed the sentence unfair.

The state earlier led evidence of how, on the day of December 14 2015, a Vincent resident had placed an order telephonically with KFC.

It was delivered by Thambodala in his motorbike to her home.

The woman told the court of her shock when she paid for her order and began walking back to her house.

She told magistrate Vabaza that Thambodala addressed her from her back and asked “what else can I do for you?”

She said when she turned to ask what he was on about she noticed Thambodala’s penis protruding from his pants erect.

She said he asked her again: “What help do you need?”

The victim said she began running hysterically and her screams caused a tenant to come out of the house to investigate.

She relayed the story to the tenant who then found Thambodala standing outside the house with his trousers unzipped.

The delivery man had tried to jump on top of his bike to flee but the tenant blocked him and called the Cambridge police. Police arrived on the scene and arrested him. He pleaded not guilty in his trial.

In his defence Thambodala said he had not buttoned his trousers by mistake. He went further on to say his genitals could not have been visible as he was wearing underwear.

Vabaza dismissed his explanation in favour of the victim.

The Saturday Dispatch understand the incident left the victim so traumatised that she later relocated.
