The Buffalo City Metro has alerted East London residents of an interruption in electricity supply in the Gately area.
The electricity will be off from 6am until 6pm on Saturday November 18, weather permitting. The alternate date for the electricity outage is Sunday November 19.
The Metro says the purpose of the interruptions is for BCM to carry out maintenance at their Glamorgan Switchhouse and Paramount Mills Switching Chamber.
The boundaries for the outage is as follows:
- Buffalo River
- Wetzlar Street / Ross Street / Joker Crescent
- Strand Street
- Settlersway / Adelaide Road
- The whole Gately area and West Bank.
Residents have been advised to treat all apparatus as being live throughout the whole period as the power may be restored at any time between these hours.
