The Cyril Ramaphosa-led ANC national executive committee (NEC) will immediately rid the party and government of those who steal public money.

This was an undertaking made by Ramaphosa addressing a packed to capacity East London City Hall tonight during the cake-cutting ceremony of the ANC 106 anniversary.

Ramaphosa promised party supporters that his NEC would prove to them that they are serious about fighting corruption by "dealing" with those who have stolen from the public purse.

"We are going to work hard to make sure that we deliver a better life for all through an effective ANC and as we do so we are going to deal with those stealing public money, the thieves and tackle corruption ," said Ramaphosa.

Ramaphosa said the ANC was still the only hope for people of South Africa, adding that should it go down, the country too would go down.
