Ten-year-old East London model Sinebango Cetywayo is one of the finalists for this year’s Miss Pre-Teen Face of South Africa competition.

The Miss Pre-Teen Face of South Africa pageant is one of many titles under Pageants SA, a company founded by Carolyn Baldwin in 1999.

The Beaconhurst Primary School pupil started modelling at the age of six and has been featured in a number of adverts for Jumbo Clothing.

Her mother, Fezeka Cetywayo, said since her daughter started her modelling career, she had been supporting her dream.

“I have supported it and will continue to do so because it has contributed tremendously to the child that she is,” she said.

“She is well-groomed, speaks well and her confidence just sky-rocketed since joining modelling.”

While the gymnastics enthusiast loves modelling and trying on various outfits, she hopes to one day become a top mathematician.

This is the first time Sinebango is entering a Pageant SA competition.

“She joined because she wanted to get the exposure of pageants as she plans to enter for Miss Teen one day.

“She has been working a lot on print commercial modelling for Jumbo Stores and wanted to explore a different platform for the experience,” said Cetywayo, adding that she hoped her daughter would gain more insight into the pageant world and hopefully also get national and international exposure.

“I want to be a part of a team that does all the calculations for the Space Shuttle to be safe for people. I would also like to be a mathematics teacher,” said the young hopeful.

The grand finale of the Miss Pre-Teen Face of SA takes place from April 3 to 7 in Pretoria West.

Other Face of South Africa pageants include Miss Mini Face SA, Miss Tiny Face SA, Miss Petite Face SA, Miss Mini Teen Face, Miss Petite Teen Face SA, Miss Junior Teen Face and Miss Junior Face. — poliswap@dispatch.co.za
