One of the controversial leaders of the Angels Ministry Church in Nyanga village, 31-year-old Phuthumile Mancoba briefly appeared in the Ngcobo Magistrate's Court around lunchtime today on murder, robbery, attempted murder and possession of an unlicensed firearm charges.
Mancoba is the sixth suspect arrested in connected with the murder of five Ngcobo policemen and Corporal Freddy Mpandeni, an off-duty soldier, last week in an attack that left the whole country reeling in shock.
Mancoba joins five other suspects arrested in connection with the gruesome murder. He was arrested on Tuesday night after being found in possession of one of the pistols stolen from the police station when it was stormed by armed gunmen last week.
Following his brief appearance in court, the case was postponed to March 8 for further investigation.
