A 37-year old Lesotho national who is in the country illegally, and who had terrorised a number of schoolgirls in the Santa and Fort Grey areas, west of East London, was today sentenced to life imprisonment after being found guilty on four counts of rape.
Kopanang Pheko, who resides at Santa location, was today sentenced to two life terms for separately raping two teenage girls from the area, between November 2015 and June 2016.
High Court judge Belinda Hartle also sentenced Pheko to 18 years for the attempted murder of a 22-year-old girl from the same area, whom he had stabbed in the shoulder before he raped her friend twice at gunpoint in 2015.
