The remains of the late MK commander, unionist and leader of the ruling ANC were welcomed at the East London Airport today.
Archie Sibeko died in the UK on March 27. Among those present were president of the ANC Veterans League Dr Snuki Zikalala, former NPA boss advocate Vusi Pikoli and ANC provincial chairman Oscar Mabuyane.
A small service to welcome the body is currently under way at the cargo section of the airport. ANC chairman in Dr WB Rubusana Xola Pakati said the region is grateful Sibeko's body arrived home.
He said the variety of people at the EL welcoming service was a reflection of Sibeko's personality. He said Sibeko was the embodiment of the ANC.
