Man survives bridge jump

A young man who jumped off the Mbhashe Bridge in Mthatha survived the fall and is now recovering at the Mthatha Regional Hospital.

Provincial health spokesman Sizwe Kupelo said the youth, 22, was spotted by construction workers, who called an ambulance. He dived   50m and landed in mud. Although he has multiple injuries the patient is fully conscious, Kupelo added. His motive for jumping was not known.
