Bound youth ‘pushed over cliff alive’: Sobbing mom helped out of courtroom

One of the two Reeston youths who were killed, allegedly by a mob of seven men from their area in March, was alive, his hands bound with a cable tie, when he was pushed to his death down a 400m cliff near Butterworth.

The head of the decomposing body of his friend, retrieved by police nearly seven weeks later on April 23, was missing.

These were some of the gruesome revelations heard in the East London bail court yesterday when the case investigating officer, Constable Lundi Nqwelo, testified for the state, which is arguing against the seven men being granted bail.
