AmaMpondo royal row far from over

THE royal row over the sovereignty of AmaMpondo seems to be far from over and this has left the kingdom confused as to who is their legitimate legitimate king.

AmaMpondo King Zanozuko Tyelovuyo Sigcau addressing thousands, during the 56th commemoration of the Ingquza Hill Masscare in Flagatsff earlier today, confirmed that he was worried by the delay of the finalisation of the matter which has been dragging in the courts since 2010.

Zanozuko was declared the king of AmaMpondo in 2010 by President Jacob Zuma following the decision of the Nhlapo Commission.

His uncle King Mpondombini Sigcau was stripped of his royal status prompting him to challenge the decision in the courts. Mpondombini died while the court verdict was still pending.

On May 6, Princess Wezizwe Feziwe Sigcau and her mother MaSobhuza Sigcau were granted leave to appeal against certain elements to have Zanozuko take over the throne.

''They have been granted appeal by the Northern Gauteng High Court. But that appeal to me means nothing. It is not an appeal against the decision of the Nhlapo Commission. So it is changing nothing," Zanozuko said.

Wesizwe Sigcau was not present at the commemoration.   Her spokesman Chief Ayanda Faku said that they were happy with the court ruling.

'' Many things are coming. We are still the monarchy,'' he said.
