Artists preserve rich heritage to ensure youth never forget sacrifice

IN AN attempt to preserve the history of the Xhosa culture, various artists from around the Eastern Cape have converted certain public spaces into dramatic artworks that tell these stories.

Mandla Mbothwe, art director at the Steve Biko Centre in Ginsberg, outside King William’s Town, said that they pioneered this initiative to ensure that stories of ancient Xhosa culture are not forgotten.
