Buffalo City Metro will have a planned 10-hour electricity outage on Sunday as part of beefing up electricity infrastructure in the city.
The outages will affect the Central Business District. The metro's outage will be from 6am to 4pm as the metro replaces the existing 11 KV panels with a new 5P Eaton unit at the Buffalo Street substation. Areas that will be affected will be Caxton, Fleet and Oxford streets and Gillwell Road.
All consumers who are supplied electricity by the metro are urged to treat all apparatus as being live throughout the whole period as power may be restored at any time between the set periods. Full details of the outages will be in the Daily Dispatch tomorrow.
