East London-born dentist Dr Anton Nina and his team have recently been voted as the best dental team in the United Kingdom.
Nina, a dental surgeon with interests in reconstructive endodontics, cosmetic, snoring and sleep apnoea surgery, hails from North End in Braelyn.
He moved to London after graduating from the University of the Witwatersrand with a bachelor in dental surgery degree.
Nina came back to practise dentistry in East London for five years before returning to the UK and later joining the Covent Garden Dental Practice in London.
“I grew up in an average family with amazing teachers who inspired me to be ambitious and in a community that played an integral part in ensuring that we grew up with utmost respect,” Nina told the Daily Dispatch.
According to the Covent Garden Dental Practice’s website, the practice prides itself in “leading practice in the area because of its team, environment and exceptional level of patient care”.
Recently the institution celebrated 20 years in practice and was recognised with Private Dentistry and FMC awards for its prestigious dental practice, best dental team, best patient care and best dental practice in London. They also won in the same categories throughout the entire United Kingdom.
Nina said: “I never thought a young man from ‘Slummies’ would be treating world-renowned celebrities.”
The award-winning dentist encouraged the youth to dream big.
