Asanda is one of 12 singers who made it  to the  finals on Saturday. The little diva stunned judges Simon Cowell,  Amanda Holden, David Williams and Alesha Dixon  with her Rihanna song Diamonds in her audition.  Last week on Friday she sang Beyonce’s Halo.

Luyanda and Prudence  moved to London 14  years ago. Asanda’s father, Luyanda, told BGT’s  Insider: "I am  so happy and proud of Asanda. This was really a tough competition  because there was a lot of talent.

"We had a little doubt that she would get though  to the final because of that, but we always thought  she could do it." She  had always loved singing, he  added.

"She sings 24/7 and is always practising."

Locals have sent their messages on Facebook  supporting the little songbird.

Sibongile Ngobese wrote: "Hey Luyanda, I saw  Asanda on YouTube. I am so proud of her and  wishing her all the best. Pity we cannot vote from  South Africa. To all South Africans in UK, please  support Asanda by voting."

Margie Hoole wrote: "And proudly South African I  remain. Asanda, show them what we are made of."

Buti Chuma wrote: "You making us very proud in South

África. You are a girl child of the African soil."

The 11-year-old described herself as a ‘diva’ and said she looked up to people like Beyonce and Rihanna.

On Saturday, BGT Insider spoke with Asanda and  her father after her stunning performance.

She said: "I am so happy! It’s amazing. I  thought I  had a good chance, but everyone was so good. I love  performing on BGT," she said.

She chose Beyonce’s Halo because it was a powerful  song and she wanted to show the judges she was  versatile. "I love fashion almost as much as singing. I am really excited about my outfit for the  final, but I can’t say anything about it yet. I have  chosen my song too – but it’s a secret," she said.

The final is on Saturday and the grand cash prize is

£250000 (R3.8-million). — poliswap@dispatch.co.za
