Green light for postponed fest

The long-awaited Emonti Urban Jazz Gospel Festival is finally taking place this weekend at the Buffalo Park Cricket Stadium.

The festival, organised by Litha Yaya and Tulas Mbuyazwe, was scheduled for the end of March but was postponed two days before the big day.

He said the festival kicks off with a gospel session from 12pm to 6pm.

“We have the likes of Rebecca Malope, Malibongwe, Dumi Mkokstad, Hlengiwe and more.”

From 6pm to midnight Yaya said the jazz show would feature the likes of Sipho Hotstix Mabuse, Zahara, The Soil, Mafikizolo and Micasa.

“From midnight till the early hours we have house music.”

The organisers of the show are giving away five double tickets for the event to Dispatch readers.
