Khanyi Mbau‚ Anele Mdoda and other A-listers join the SABC's 90% quota line up

Various Mzansi A-listers have been unveiled as presenters of a bumper new line-up of SABC shows‚ which will air as of July 1.

The line-up of new locally produced shows form part of the SABC’s 90% local content quota.

Ever since the SABC introduced the 90% local music quota across its 18 radio stations‚ it was revealed that television stations would follow suit.

In the new line-up on SABC 3‚ media personality Khanyi Mbau and television and radio personality Phat Joe will host The Weekend Edition‚ a show that will touch on topics ranging from style to social media creativity.

Radio personality Anele Mdoda joins the broadcaster as the host of a weekly talk show called Real Talk‚ which will air on week days.

TV personality Lorna Maseko’s passion for food is also set to take centre stage as she bags a gig as the host of culinary reality show Top Chef SA.

“The SABC firmly believes in delivering on its mandate to promote local content and this decision to increase the local quota on television will not only yield an increased audience share‚ but will further contribute to the South African public being proud of its quality local content‚” SABC COO Hlaudi Motsoeneng said.
