Tensions are rising around Parliament as the first of the expected mass marches near the parliamentary precinct.

The march is audible, but not visible from within the parliamentary precinct.

The marched was stopped about two blocks from parliament by a public order police with fout armoured vehicles.

It is said to be the march organised by the ANC. The march was supported by hundreds of marchers in yeloow ANC T-shirts with President Jacob Zuma's face on them.

Furthermore, at about 3 pm, dozens of men dressed in crisp white shirts rather than the green shirts the parliamentary protection services normally wear, entered Parliamenat through the Poorthuis entrance.

Some of them are known members of the protection services.

Last year, white-shirted police violently removed EFF MPs from the debating chamber after they disrupted Zuma's State of the Nation speech.
