Social media abuzz after scuffle in Parliament

Once again parliament was reduced to chaos on Tuesday afternoon when opposition party Economic Freedom Fighters MPs refused to be addressed by President Jacob Zuma.

Zuma was scheduled for a question and answer session when EFF MP’s disrupted proceedings saying they would not be addressed by him.

In attempts to get the EFF to settle down‚ National Assembly speaker Baleka Mbete resorted to calling in parliament security to remove the “unruly” MPs from the house.

As handbags‚ water bottles and fists flew in Parliament‚ with EFF MPs and parliamentary protection officers exchanging blows‚ people were quick to react on social media under the #ZumaQandA and #EFFMPs hashtags.

Sure Kamhunga ?@SureKamhunga said: “Parliament protection services being called to escort EFF MPs out. Violence breaks out ... Jeepers.”

“Pretty sure Baleka Mbethe sees a therapist before and after parliament because of EFF #ZumaQandA” added Karabo Makgogo @ Kay–Angel

“ANC gets shocked when people resort to violance if not listened to‚ yet they violently harass EFF MPs in parliamant/ National Assembly/.” said Azania Afrika @SAYougLion.
