Tumi Molekane disses the SAMAs: I never let a statue tell me how nice I am

Rapper Tumi Molekane has taken more shots at the music industry‚ and at the South African Music Awards in particular‚ saying that he never needed an award to make him feel special.

Tumi‚ who is not among the nominees for this year’s SAMA awards‚ took to Instagram this week to take a shot at the awards‚ suggesting he would go on his annual “F*ck the SAMAs” trip to Europe when the awards ceremony comes around next month.

“It’s almost time for my annual FUCK THE SAMAS summer trip to Europe. #ineverletastatuetellmehowniceiam‚” he wrote on the social media site recently.

It’s not clear where Tumi’s beef with the SAMAs stems from‚ or if it is only because he appears to have been snubbed by the awards‚ but the rapper has been on the warpath of late.

Last week‚ the rapper took to Twitter to throw shade at the entire industry‚ calling out “talentless” hip-hop artists and proclaiming himself: “God of this sh*t.”

“I am not your peer or your fellow rapper. I am the God of this sh*t. If it’s about rapping I am better than you all. Does that sound weird?‚” he tweeted in the middle of a lengthy rant.

His comments also come several weeks after rapper Cassper Nyovest hit out at the awards‚ revealing that he did not submit his music for consideration because he did not see the value in winning an SAMA.

“Why do you guys keep lying to yourselves? There is no award ceremony that I attend and I do not win!!! I didn’t submit because I don’t rate the SAMAs. I don’t want to win a SAMA anymore. I’m good without them‚” he said in the post.
