Why evangelist Hinn keeps faith with ‘healing crusades’

“I am not the healer.” These were the words of internationally-renowned evangelist Benny Hinn in an interview with the Saturday Dispatch.

Sitting in one of River Park’s private entertainment rooms after his first service, Hinn insisted he did not have power to heal, but God was the one doing all the work.

Hinn’s own world turned upside down last year when he found himself in a hospital bed with heart-related problems.

“In life we don’t think about death, we don’t think about us dying at a young age. In my case, the Lord did not want me to ignore it anymore.

“I’m grateful that I went through that. I learned much about life and people in general,” he said.

Prior to his hospital stay, Hinn said he had always looked at non-believers in a judgmental way.

“My view of the world was somewhat negative. The way I see them now has changed. In the hospital I saw how they treated me with such love and care. Nurses cheering when I left the hospital. They showed me love and kindness.”

Hinn said some of the meanest people on earth were religious people, and added that for one to love and forgive people one needed to experience the love of God first.
