Traffic between Breidbach and government's State House in Bhisho was disrupted as residents of the township protested over housing.
The about 50 protesters, under the banner of the Breidbach Home Seekers, closed of a lane on the main road leading to the province's seat of government. According to community leader Denzel Smith the Buffalo City Metro had identified land for building houses but reneged on the promise.
"The people in Breidbach have no houses," Smith said. He said the township was being neglected by BCM because it had not voted for the ANC.
The residents last month embarked on a violent protest that shutdown the N2 as petrol bombs and rubber bullets flew.
The protesters memorandum was accepted by Joe Sotshane, from the premier's office, who told the protesters that most of their grievances were municipality issues but they would engage BCM in trying to solve them.
