TWO South African soapie actors will this year grace the Daily Dispatch Windmill Fun Walk/Run.

The famous faces include former Generations actor Dumisani Mbebe, who played Dumisani Shabane, and Dumisani Masilela who stars as Rhythm City’s Sifiso Ngema.

Other special guests include 10 patients from Life Rehabilitation Unit in Life St Dominic’s Hospital, who have their wheelchairs revved up and ready to go.

Daily Dispatch marketing manager Suren Packery said they hoped to beat last year’s entries of 2400 with 3000 entries.

The fun run will take place on Sunday September 21.

Participants choose to either do four or eight kilometres.

Entry fees are R40 for adults, R25 for children under the age of 16, R110 for families (which includes two adults and two kids under the age of 16) and R35 for corporates of more than 10.

Proceeds will will go towards The Kings Children’s Home, a safe house for abused and abandoned babies based in King William’s Town.

“This year we have planned to have the Mdantsane Marching Band, the George Randell Primary award-winning marimba band, Wild Coast FM, cartoon characters, jumping castles, The Windmill Chocolate Handout and much more,” Packery concluded. — zisandan@dispatch.co.za
