The Stormers say that nothing has changed since Eddie Jones was unveiled as the union's Super Rugby coach last week.

Reports linking Jones to the vacant England position gathered momentum on Monday when his odds at numerous bookmakers in England shortened substantially, making him the overwhelming favourite for the post as Jake White slipped to second.

When contacted by Sport24 on Tuesday, a Stormers spokesperson reiterated the stance taken by Jones when pressed on the possibility of coaching England at his unveiling in Cape Town last week Thursday.

"No contact... I'm committed to the Stormers," Jones said then.

"I woke up this morning and looked at Table Mountain ... so I'm here."

Jones had also joked that day that you should "never believe anything you read in the papers."

"I'm happy to be here. The Stormers are one of the most prestigious union's in the world," he said.

The Stormers would not reveal any of the specifics of Jones' contract with them.

Super Rugby is set to get underway on February 26.
