Chippa United goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi has won a recall to the Nigerian national team while Issa Sarr of Orlando Pirates keeps his place in the Senegal squad for African Nations Cup qualifiers at the end of the month.

Left out‚ however‚ is Chippa captain and central defender James Okwuosa‚ who has previously played for Nigeria and has been in sparkling form in the PSL this season‚ helping his club up to sixth place in the standings.

Ghana are expected to keep faith with Pirates utility player Edwin Gyimah when they announce their squad this week while Zambia have named a provisional squad of 33 that includes three PSL-based players.

Collins Mbesuma is an automatic choice given his scoring form but Kennedy Mweene’s lack of game time could see his place under threat while Davies Nkausu has just recently found employment at Free State Stars.

Zambia also named two former PSL stars in veterans Isaac Chansa and Chris Katongo for matches they will play against Congo. – Tiso Black Star Group Digital
