Still licking their wounds from bombing out of the Nedbank Cup last 32 last weekend, EC Bees are engaged in a must-win ABC Motsepe League encounter with Young Ideas.

Nothing less than a win will keep the Bhisho-based outfit in the running for the 2015-16 championship.

Bees coach Chippa Njedu knows this too well and promised that his charges will throw everything they have at Ideas for the league title was their only hope to redeem themselves from the Nedbank Cup early exit.

Bees are currently trailing log-leaders Lion City by 11 points and have a game in hand.

Njedu is so confident of an aggressive redemption that he predicted a 3-0 victory in favour of Bees against the Port Elizabeth-based Ideas today.

But Ideas will not be a walk in the park, especially having rested over the weekend while Bees were hard at work in the Nedbank Cup.

Not only that but Ideas will be out to cement their place in the top eight.

They currently lie eighth with 30 points.

Njedu admitted that suffering a defeat today would officially rule them out of the title contention.

“This is undoubtedly a must-win for us,” said Njedu.

“The only disadvantage we have in our title bid is that we are done playing league toppers Lion City while we still have a date with the other three above us.”

Indeed Bees cannot afford to drop more points.

Mathematically, they still have a chance to win the league, as long as they can beat second-placed Tornado, FC Elliot who are on third position and fourth-placed Zimbane Killers and hope that City lose against Elliot on Sunday.

“Our fate is totally in our hands. All that we need to do from now on is win home and away,” he said.

“Good for the Nedbank Cup is out of the way so we will not be having divided attention.”
