School derby rugby action is heating up this weekend as teams aim to finish their respective seasons on a high.

With just a few weekends remaining for most sides, teams will want to be at the top of their game as they play their rivals for the final time this season.

The Border region’s top performers so far this year, Dale College, will be back in action with a bang as they take on St Andrew’s College in King William’s Town.

It is Dale’s first game back after the winter holiday break after having the past weekend off and they will need to hit the ground running in the tricky fixture.

St Andrew’s fought out a tight 14-14 draw against Marlow this past weekend and despite having had a difficult year so far, should be up for the challenge.

Dale will have to get straight back into the thick of things but having had a fantastic season so far and with home ground advantage, Dale should be expected to claim a win without much trouble.

A cracking derby clash is all set for Selborne College as the hosts welcome Queen’s College for their second game of the season.

Queens hold the current bragging rights having pipped Selborne 33-29 at the Rec earlier this year and they would love to claim the double over their massive College rivals.

Selborne however have arguably had a better season than Queen’s and will head into the match with confidence having won their last four games in a row.

“I think definitely from the latter part of the second term we have been playing a lot better rugby, so we are going into the match with a lot of confidence,” said Selborne back line coach Josh Fowles.

“We know Queen’s beat us earlier in the season, so we will not underestimate them but our guys will head into the match with something to prove.
