In another mixed bag for East London teams, Hudson Park High School bounced back from from their defeat yesterday afternoon with a big win, while Selborne College slipped to their second defeat of the Coca Cola Schools T20 Challenge on the second morning in Stellenbosch today.

For Coastal Focus Schools representatives Hudson Park, the bonus point win over Titans reps HS Centurion breathed life into their quest to make the tournament semifinals, while Warriors reps Selborne's loss against Lions representatives St Stithians has left them on the verge of not qualifying for them.

In the Hudson match all-rounder Jason Niemand was once again the star as he picked up 3/9 in four overs with the ball and then following up with an unbeaten 53 off 34 balls (3x4; 1x6) to lead Hudson to a thumping nine wicket win.

However for the second day in a row a 15-year old East Londoner put in a sparkling performance, with it this time being Hudson's young all-rounder Nonelela Yikha who claimed a superb 4/13 in his four overs, as he helped Niemand tear through the Centurion batting line up to skittle them all out for just 86 in the 20th over.

The Hudson chase was then a straight forward affair as Niemand led from the front, while Luke Dallas played the anchor role as they shared in an 82 run partnership off 11 overs.

Dallas unfortunately fell for 29 off 34 balls at the start of the 12th over, but by the end of it Hudson were over the line for a dominant win.

Hudson now take on Knight's representatives St Andrews Bloemfontein in their final pool stage match this afternoon, needing a bonus point win to ensure a semifinal spot.

For Selborne they now face an anxious wait for this afternoons match between Inland Focus Schools representatives Prestige College and Cobras reps Wynberg boys, to see if they will make the semis, needing Prestige to pull off an unlikely upset win over Wynberg.

Selborne were undone by a brilliant batting effort from St Stithian's Matthew Erasmus who hammered his way to a century as they posted 162/3 in their 20 overs.

Erasmus cracked 105 off 75 balls, featuring four boundaries and five maximums, with his 108-run third wicket partnership with Curtis Campher (37no) getting St Stithians to their daunting total.

Selborne then struggled again with the bat, ending on 125/8 off their 20 overs to end well short in the end.

A 61-run second wicket partnership between opener Josneil Long and Matt Dewar looked to keep them in the running, however once Dewar fell for 24 and Long for 28 within three balls of each other, it left them with too much to do.

Stuart Els however never gave up and his heroic 23-ball 38, featuring two sixes and three fours helped give Selborne some cheer with some inventive shots towards the end of their innings.

The action resumes at 2pm this afternoon with the final round of pool games.
