Palmer hints he may give Luyolo a run

Luyolo Nomandela is all set to make his debut at Mthatha Bucks during the much anticipated clash against National First Division log-leaders Stellenbosch FC at the Mthatha Stadium today.

Bucks coach Ian Palmer yesterday told the Saturday Dispatch the former Mamelodi Sundowns winger, Nomandela was in the final 18-man squad.

“There’s good spirit in the camp and the supporters will definitely not miss anything and I am very confident going into tomorrow’s game because he has been gelling well with the rest of the team.

“Nomandela has been with us for about three weeks now and my main concern was his fitness and I could see it did improve at training. He has been doing the extra work like training twice a day.

“He hasn’t given us any problems at all when it comes to gym time, he’s actually a good boy to work with so far.”

Palmer said he told Nomandela that this was the chance to redeem himself.

“He needs to prove a lot of people wrong, because at his age he still has a lot of years ahead and he needs to be in the PSL.

“So it’s definitely up to him what he does with this opportunity, but he looks very focused so we’ll see what happens and you can actually see the players have accepted him with open arms so he is no stranger to the team.”
