Chippa United boss Siviwe “Chippa” Mpengesi has assured East London soccer-lovers that the Chilli Boys will still use the Sisa Dukashe Stadium as their second home.
He also confirmed that the Telkom Knockout match against Mamelodi Sundowns on Sunday will be played at Sisa Dukashe.
This follows the shocking announcement by Buffalo City Municipality to discontinue their partnership with the Port Elizabeth-based outfit after mayor Xola Pakati yesterday told council the R1 million match fee paid to the club was unsustainable.
“People should come in their numbers to support the team and also to show they want us play there, because this battle I cannot fight on my own. This is a political fight and I'm not a politician and I'm not doing this for money, I'm doing it for football supporters.
Mpengesi said he was willing to spend his own money to bring more games to the NU 2 venue.
