Chippa United caretaker coach Teboho Moloi aims to fight for a win when they lock horns with Mamelodi Sundowns in their Telkom Knockout game at the Sisa Dukashe Stadium tomorrow.

Moloi said the Chilli Boys had proved themselves when they held SuperSport United to a draw after they outplayed them in the second half and that he expects his boys to do the same with the Chloorkop-based outfit.

“To me that means a lot and even last week's game was a very important win because it brought back the boys fighting spirit and the need to believe they can win games.

“They were coming off that 3-1 loss against Baroka FC. That result really took their fighting spirit and energy away and I think I've never seen them being so disappointed with themselves as they were after that result.

“Chippa plays beautiful, surprising football but during that game we were surprised by Baroka.”

He said losing to the log leaders was a real shocker to them, and they knew they had to bounce back quickly.

“Coming back from something like that, they start getting draws, even though they dominated games. During that game we hit uprights and we had about eight chances that we created but we couldn't score.’’

He said winning against Cape Town City last week at the NU 2 venue was a much need shot in the arm for the team.

“Other teams will come to you with a different style of play and we should not forget that this team is the one that came at us in Cape Town and got three goals in the first half.

“The pressure and high intensity were there but the boys did very well in their comeback in the second half. They had to dig deep and did just that.

“And that was after we spoke about their mistakes during the break and then they went in and they gave City a hard time making them feel the pressure. Luckily for us they couldn't take it.’’

Moloi said The Brazilians couldn't be taken lightly because of the woes they are currently facing.

“Sundowns are a big team and they are African champions. Even though they might be going through some sort of a slump that doesn't mean anything to me.

“Everywhere in the world big teams go through a slump and you never know when they will bounce back.

“I think the boys are aware of where they will be tomorrow and what will happen and what is expected from them.’’

Chilli Boys have three injuries one of which has ruled out regular players like Katlego Mashego who fell into a ditch and pulled a hamstring.

“That's doesn't seem to show in the team and it's the first time I come to a team where players don't have a problem if a regular is out.

“They are treating each other the same and I like the spirit that's going around camp,’’ he said.
