Former Mthatha Bucks midfielder Mazwi Mncube, who now plays at Royal Eagles, says coming out of Mthatha Stadium victorious will be a mammoth task.
The National First Division sides are set to clash in a highly anticipated league match tomorrow at the Mthatha Stadium and Mncube thinks his side will have a difficult time against Amathol’amnyama.
He said the fact that both teams were in the relegation zone would make things more interesting as both sides would fight for the three points up for grabs. Bucks have 13 points (15th spot) while Royal Eagles are on 15 points and in 13th place.
“It’s going to be really tough because both teams are struggling at the moment.
“Knowing the crowd they have at home and the position they are in, they will want to fight for their fans.
“It won’t be easy but we want to make that we also bring our A game and get the three points we need, regardless that we are playing away.’’
Mncube said Eagles were aiming to use this game to close the gap with the teams that are in better positions on the log standings so they could stand a better a chance competing for the league title.
“Our approach this past week was to go for the kill and earn the points up for grabs.
“Like other contenders we have a target set out and we will reach that target within the next 15 games.
“So we just want to win and that’s how we want things to be for the remainder of the season because we have to collect as much points as we can to go up the log table.
“Don’t get me wrong but other teams like Bucks want the same thing so we are prepared to give it our all.”
The former Bucks player, Mncube, said he had recently recovered from a quadricep muscle injury he suffered during a training session and had to take a two week break before commencing training.
Mncube said he was looking forward to playing again.
“I’m might play but I’m not worried about anything, because I just started training.
Mncube said following his departure at Bucks - he has managed to keep in contact the squad.
“You can’t say you don’t miss the boys. Even when they came to play Real Kings, I went to watch them and they really showed character and I’m expecting the same when we play them tomorrow.”
