Judge Thokozile Masipa has left hanging those eagerly awaiting her verdict in the Oscar Pistorius murder trial.

Shortly after finding that Pistorius acted negligently, Masipa postponed her verdict until tomorrow.

Masipa applied the reasonable man test to Pistorius's actions in the early hours of the morning of February 14 last year when he fired four shots through his toilet cubicle door killing his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.

This is the test applied in consideration of whether Pistorius is guilty of culpable homicide.

Masipa earlier found the Blade Runner was not guilty of murdering Steenkamp.

In applying the reasonable man test to his actions, Masipa found that a person in the same circumstances and suffering from the same disability would not have fired four shots through the toilet door and would have foreseen that his actions could lead to the death of whoever was behind the door.

She described Pistorius as having acted hastily and with excessive force and of being negligent in his actions.

Judge Masipa will continue reading her verdict when court resumes tomorrow morning.
