Popular radio legend Saba Mbixane has died

Award-winning Umhlobo Wenene radio presenter, Saba Mbixane, has died.

Family spokesmanSidima Mbixane confirmed Saba's death to the Daily Dispatch this afternoon.

The popular DJ died at 9.30am, exactly 16 days after he was declared brain dead at the Nelson Mandela CentralHospital (NMCH).

Mbixane suffered head injuries after crashing his off-road motorbike. He was flown to the Mthatha hospital on February 9 where he remained in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) until his death.
