Property tycoon and Billion Group chairman Sisa Ngebulana has smashed through many barriers to reach the top of South Africa’s retail property development sector.
The businessman, who grew up between Mthatha and Mdantsane, is the founder of the Billion Group, a company that has developed a string of shopping malls throughout the country – the latest of which, BT Ngebs Mall, opens in Mthatha today.
The mall is named after his beloved grandfather and mentor, rugby legend and entrepreneur Tandi Ngebulana, whose many successful businesses in the area included a soap factory, taxi business, a general dealership, and a brick-making yard.
