Berea Veterinary Clinic vet Dr Coen de Bruin confirmed he put the dog down.
Neighbours, who said they were too scared to be named, said they were considering drafting a petition to have all the Wade’s pitbulls removed from the suburb. “All the people in the street are very unhappy and I am terrified for my grandchildren,” said one.
Gert Botha, who was bitten on the foot by Kronos as he opened his car door on Keam Street, said he was glad the dog was put down.
