The electricity supply to the thousands of Eskom customers in the Southern Coastal side of East London has been restored.​

More than 6 000 people from the Cove Ridge and Kayser's Beach area where affected by the outage that occurred around 5:30 this morning.

According to Eskom's spokeswomen Ntosh Mafumbata the electricity supply to these areas was interrupted by a link that burnt at the Buffalo sub station just after 5am.

Mafumbata said they managed to locate the fault at around 7am and electricity was restored just before 9am.
