DA students cement control of Mandela University SRC

The Democratic Allience Student Organisation (Daso) on Tuesday increased its majority on the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University’s (NMMU) Student Representative Council (SRC).

The DA’s youth spokesperson‚ Yusuf Cassim‚ said the party was “humbled” by winning another seat following an election at the university’s George campus.

Daso now controls 13 out of the 21 seats on the SRC.

“This is the first year that Daso contested the election at George campus and with the overwhelming majority win at NMMU primary campus a few weeks ago‚ the students at George campus have made it clear that they too endorse the DA and Daso brand of good governance‚” said Cassim.
