One person dies, 11 seriously injured in Libode accident

A mini-bus  taxi travelling between Mthatha  and  Libode  overturned,  resulting in the death of one passenger and 11 others injured, including  a driver.

All were rushed to Libode and Mthatha hospitals.

Police spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Mzukisi Fatyela said the accident happened  near Mdlankomo village on the R61 at about 5pm.

‘’ It is alleged that the vehicle had a tyre-bust.  One passenger, a woman, died at the scene,’’said Fatyela, who visited the scene of accident.
