South African star of the cabaret stage, Emile Minnie, will perform at the Guild Theatre on June 14 in a show which will help raise funds for much-needed equipment at the East London theatre.

Laurika Rauch describes Emile as one of South Africa’s best songwriters and has recorded three of his songs.

Emile’s latest offering is a romantic French show, breathing new life into old favourites like La vie en rose and Je ne regrette rien.

Emile’s album Nagmusiek was nominated for a Sama for best alternative Afrikaans album, and he was a runner-up in the Huisgenoot/ You Songwriting Competition, as well as a finalist in the World Song Contest.

For this performance Emile will combine romantic French love songs with favourites from his previous seven albums.

For good measure, he will include some Golden Oldies, and even a dash of rock and roll.

Tickets at R100 are available from Computicket and the show starts at 7pm.
