EC education department suspends exams due to taxi strike

In light of today’s protest by taxi operators, acting Education Superintendent general Sizakele Netshilaphala announced the suspension of all exams.

Speaking on behalf of Netshilaphala, Education spokesman Loyiso Pulumani said this was a timelyadvisory “to all school principals to reschedule all planned examinations fo9r today (Friday June10)

“This is in light of the planned blockade of major roads by taxis. This is to ensuere that no learners are adversley affected by the action,” said Pulumani.
