Ithuba on Friday warned of “longer than normal queues at lottery terminals” as Friday night’s Powerball draw is for the “biggest lottery jackpot this year”.

The lottery operator said the estimated payout “has hit a whopping R57-million”.

“Matching all five numbers and the PowerBall will most definitely put the winner into the Top 10 of SA’s all-time big lottery winners’ list‚” a statement said.

“Longer than normal queues at lottery terminals are expected as many players‚ hoping that Lady Luck will smile on them‚ are expected to be gunning for it.”

The draw is broadcast live on e.tv at 9pm. Ticket sales close 30 minutes prior to that.
