The streets of Komani are ablaze as Lukhanji Local Municipality workers have shut down the city's Main Street.
The protesters have set tyres alight on Cathcart Road since 11am today.

They are demanding to be backpaid salaries from 2011.
The streets have also been filled with litter by the protesters who continue protesting until tomorrow.
