Three shepherds have died in the snow and 45 are missing.
Joe Gqabi district municipality director of community services Fiona Sephton yesterday said massive rescue efforts were under way in the mountainous areas of the municipality.
She said heavy snowfalls had barricaded holidaymakers into resorts and villagers were cut off from food and fuel. She said the three herders had been reported dead in the Mount Fletcher area and 45 were unaccounted for..More in the Dispatch
