Ex-Mhlontlo council speaker and his wife shot dead at home

Former Mhlontlo council speaker Zolile Malangeni and his wife were shot and killed at their Mayalulweni village home in Tsolo last night.

He was set to make a return as a councillor after making it to the ANC's proportional representative list.

OR Tambo ANC regional boss Xolile Nkompela told DispatchLIVE that the motive for the killing was still unknown.

"We are very saddened by comrade Malangeni's murder because we had earmarked him for a senior position in that municipality because of his experience," he said.
