The Eastern Cape government has invested R2.5-million into the inaugural Premier’s Cup, which will see Chippa United host Kaizer Chiefs at the Sisa Dukashe Stadium in Mdantsane tomorrow.

This was confirmed by provincial government spokesman Sonwabo Mbananga on the sidelines of the joint press conference at the East London City Hall yesterday.

He said the money was transferred from the provincial sports, recreation, arts and culture. “The government has funded this sporting event with R2.5million,” he said.
