Yet another Walter Sisulu University student has been allegedly stabbed and killed by his roommate after a fun weekend of heavy drinking and eating.
The electrical engineering student from Libode was stabbed on Sunday afternoon at the male residence Destiny Two, situated at Wynne Street in Southernwood.
University spokeswoman Yonela Tukwayo confirmed, saying the student was pronounced dead on arrival at Frere Hospital.
This is the second killing of this nature at the university in just less than three months.
East London Police spokeswoman Hazel Mqala said they were investigating a case of murder.
The 23-year-old suspect was arrested yesterday. Court proceedings are still ongoing. -sisiphoz@dispatch.co.za
