The Democratic Alliance intensifies its fight for the Buffalo City Metro's Ward 27 in Gonubie Mzamomhle.

Today the national opposition party sent its parliamentary chief whip John Steenhuisen to campaign in the informal settlement that has been without a councillor since the local government elections in 2016.
Steenhuisen said Ward 27 was a significant ward for the DA especially with their ambitions that include taking over Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality.
“You don't just wake up one day and win a municipality you work ward by ward. We did the same thing even with Nelson Mandela Bay,” said Steenhuizen.
Steenhuisen was accompanied by some of the BCM councillors that included constituency leader Kevin Mileham.
