The skies roared with the engines of military, police and civilian aircraft at Mthatha’s very first airshow and career expo on Saturday. Not only were the aerobatics and displays breathtaking at Mthatha Airport, but hundreds of school pupils learnt about civil aviation careers first hand.

The event was a celebration of OR Tambo’s life and marked October as transport month.

Meanwhile, in East London, the semifinal leg of the Miss Eastern Cape beauty pageant was held on Saturday at Hemingways Mall and at the Guild Theatre, the Heather Cooper School of Ballet brought the Disney classic ‘Snow White’ to dazzling life. Pictures by LULAMILE FENI and SIBONGILE NGALWA
